That is how the inhabitants of western Texas, near the town of Stephenville describes an object, they spotted in the sky one night last week.

Military leaders, however, are skeptical. They said that residents are letting their imaginations run wild and passed it off as an optical illusion. They said that it was probably nothing more than a reflection of the sunlight on the two airliners.

While federal officials insist there is a logical explanation, residents swear it was larger, quieter, faster and lower to the ground than in an airplane. People in several cities who have reported seeing it over several weeks have offered similar descriptions of the object.
Machinist Ricky Sorrells said friends laughed at him when he told them he saw a flat, metal object hovering about 300 feet above the Dublin pasture behind his house. But he decided to attend after reading similar accounts in the Stephenville Empire-Tribune.
"You hear about big bass or big buck in the region, but this is another matter," says Sorrells. "It feels good to hear that other people have seen something, because it means that I am not crazy."
Sorrells said he saw the subject on several occasions. He said he looked through his rifle telescopic lens and described it as very important and seamless, the nuts or bolts.
Maj. Karl Lewis, a spokesman for the 301st Fighter Wing at the Joint Reserve Base Naval Air Station in Fort Worth, said no F-16s or other aircraft from the base were in the area the night of January 8, when most people reported observation.
Lewis said the object may have been an illusion caused by two commercial airplanes. The lights of the aircraft seemed unusually bright and may appear orange sun.
"I am confident that the 90 per cent was an airliner," says Lewis. "With the angle of the sun, it can play tricks on you."
Officials in the region, two Air Force bases - Dyess in Abilene and Sheppard in Wichita Falls - also said that none of their aircraft were in the region last week. The Air Force is no longer investigates ufo sightings in texas.
A man has offered a reward for a photo or video of the mysterious object.

Thursday night april 17th 2008 in Austin Tx.It was cloudy and me and two friends were outside when all of the sudden a V shaped craft came out of the clouds and flew over us. it was a transparent white color and had lights around it and was totally silent it seemed to change shapes when it got directly over us.The lights that made it look like a V suddenly changed into a diamond looking craft.It was only about 250 feet in the air and we got a good look at it.After it passed over we looked at it from behind and at first all we could see was a narrow white light that was about 50 feet wide,then the light went off and we saw what appeared to be a dark craft about 50 feet wide and then it went back into the clouds and we lost sight of it.Whatever it was it was not from around this part of the world i have never seen anything like it ever,It was incredible.
